He trained in orthopedic surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and completed a fellowship in Hand Surgery at Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts. He is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic surgery. He was a clinical instructor in orthopedics at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine from 1985 to 1993. Dr. Peters is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, The Medical Association, and the Tarrant County Medical Society. He also belongs to a volunteer medical team that serves in Central America and has been listed among “Top Docs” by Forth Worth Magazine. He has received recognition by local communities for his expertise. His special interests are surgery of the hand and upper extremity.
