Therapeutic & Diagnostic Injections

At North Texas Orthopedics & Spine Center, we are dedicated to providing our patients with access to the latest and most advanced nonsurgical treatment options. As part of this dedication, our specialty-trained doctors offer a wide variety of injections that can be used to treat or diagnose orthopedic injuries and conditions, such as sciatica, herniated discs, and spinal stenosis.

Injections are nonsurgical procedures that have two primary purposes. One is to provide pain relief, and the other is to aid our doctors in diagnosing the cause or source of the pain. Some injections, such as epidural steroid injections, can be used as both a pain reliever and a diagnostic tool. Other injections, such as injections using contrast, are only used for diagnostic purposes and are often combined with fluoroscopy or another type of medical imaging.

Our doctors have undergone extensive training and are highly skilled in performing the following injections for therapeutic and diagnostic purposes:

  • Epidural steroid injections
  • Facet injections
  • Fluoroscopically guided injections
  • Hip, shoulder, and knee injections
  • Sacroiliac joint injections

When injections are used to relieve pain, most patients will experience significant pain relief after just one injection. However, it may take more than one treatment for other patients to reap the full benefits.
