To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, North Texas Orthopedics & Spine Center is now offering telemedicine as an alternative approach to seeing patients with orthopedic injuries and conditions. This approach enables patients to safely visit with one of the practice’s specialty-trained providers from the comfort of their own home or office using video conference and telecommunications technology, such as a smartphone or tablet with a video camera and microphone.
In addition to lowering exposure risk at the practice, their combined approach with on-site Orthopedic Urgent Care at their office in Grapevine, located at 2535 Ira E. Woods Ave., and telemedicine will allow for reduced patient traffic in emergency rooms and traditional urgent care facilities while those entities focus on fighting COVID-19 cases.
“During this difficult time with COVID-19, we are continuing to serve the bone, joint and muscle needs of the residents of Grapevine, Fort Worth and the surrounding areas,” says Dr. Kerry Donegan, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon at North Texas Orthopedics & Spine Center. “We know many area residents have concerns visiting an ER or traditional urgent care. That’s why our clinics and Orthopedic Urgent Care remain open to provide new and existing patients with prompt and effective orthopedic treatment to alleviate some strain on our health system.”
Through telemedicine, the practice’s specialty-trained experts are able to provide follow-up care for their patients as well as diagnoses and care plans for a majority of orthopedic injuries. This new, secure technology complies with federal health privacy laws and offers area residents accurate, high-quality orthopedic care without risk to themselves and others as well as the practice’s providers and staff.
Patients can also walk into North Texas Orthopedics & Spine Center’s Orthopedic Urgent Care at their Grapevine location during the following hours:
- Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Friday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
“We will continue to closely monitor the recommendations set forth by the World Health Organization, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Texas Department of State Health Services to ensure we’re doing everything we can to keep our patients and staff healthy,” says Dr. Donegan.
