- “North Texas Orthopedics & Spine Center Drs. Tucker and Briseno have successfully treated the debilitating pain and discomfort I was experiencing in my neck and shoulder. I was unable to lower my head for more than a few seconds without extreme pain, numbness, and muscle spasms. As a former high school and college wrestler and an Army vet, my 65+-year-old spine had had enough. Dr. Tucker zeroed in on the cause nerve compression due to arthritis in the C5-C6 vertebrae in my neck. We began a series of steroid injections in the joint. The doses would typically bring immediate relief, but throughout months, the pain would return. We eventually agreed that a more permanent solution was needed, and I was referred to Dr. Briseno. Dr. Briseno explained my options, and we decided that surgically fusing the vertebrae was indicated. This would stabilize the vertebrae and allow bone growth to complete the stabilization over the next six months. The procedure was completed with an overnight hospital stay. As expected I had an immediate reduction in pain level. The improvement continued, as I regularly returned for X-rays and consultation with PA Rachel. Now six months after the procedure the level of discomfort is minimal and rare and continues to improve. But I promise: the only wrestling I will do is with grandchildren! Overall, I could not be more pleased with the professionalism, friendliness, and skill of all North Texas Orthopedics & Spine Center doctors and staff who helped me through my ordeal. - “Being a suspicious, non-trusting person toward doctors. I try to avoid them even when I am in pain. That was a bit of a mistake cause my pain got worse. I finally made an appointment with this place and saw Dr. Briseno. He was Wonderful, as was the gentleman that took my X-rays, and then the lady that injected meds into my knee. From the second I walked into that building the staff smiled and was relaxed. Dr.Briseno didn't mess around. He found out what was wrong, and knew what he needed to do to help me, and I walked out of there with zero pain. I have walked downstairs with no pain. Amazing!
