Dr. Ryan Mulligan is a board-certified and fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon. Dr. Mulligan joined North Texas Orthopedics & Spine Center in 2017. He was raised in Grapevine, Texas, and is a Colleyville Heritage High School alumnus. He received his undergraduate education from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas, graduating magna cum laude. Dr. Mulligan earned his Doctor of Medicine degree with honors from Texas A&M University Health Science Center in Temple, Texas, and was a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.

Dr. Mulligan then completed his residency training in orthopedic surgery at The University of Tennessee Health Science Center and the Campbell Clinic in Memphis, Tennessee. While in residency, he gained extensive training in upper and lower extremity orthopedic trauma and fracture care at the Elvis Presley Memorial Trauma Center in Memphis. He also developed a special interest in sports medicine, joint reconstruction, and treating knee conditions of all ages. His team coverage experience includes assisting the St. Louis Cardinals AAA affiliate Memphis Redbirds baseball team and multiple Memphis area high schools. He currently serves as a team physician for Colleyville Heritage High School.

For additional specialty training, Dr. Mulligan completed an orthopedic foot and ankle surgery fellowship at Duke University School of Medicine in Durham, North Carolina. His areas of expertise include conservative and surgical management of foot and ankle sports injuries, arthritis, fracture care, tendon and ligament disorders, deformity correction, painful flat feet and high arches, bunions, hammertoes, and neuromas. His special interests include ankle replacement, minimally invasive foot and ankle surgery, and reconstruction of complex fractures and deformities.

Dr. Mulligan is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) and the American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society (AOFAS). He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and presented research at the national level on the topics of foot and ankle reconstruction and joint replacement. 

Dr. Mulligan is married to a primary care physician, and together, they have two young children. He enjoys spending time with his family, running, and following Texas A&M University athletics when he is not seeing patients.
