COMMUNITY

We are active with local chambers of commerce and participate in police and fire department events, along with many other local groups throughout the year. Our physicians are the team doctors for 10 area schools, and we also offer Saturday Injury Clinics for our athletes during the season. Supporting our local communities and schools is an honor and privilege. And, we have a lot of fun too!

One of the most recent highlights for our practice was receiving a flag from Lieutenant Colonel Hammond of the United States Air Force (the uncle to one of our staff members). He presented it to our physicians during our Employee Appreciation Day. The American flag was taken on 52 combat missions in 17 countries. While they were flying an air medical mission on their C-130, they got the call that there were troops who were badly injured. They picked them up and turned the back of the airplane into a flying hospital. There were doctors and nurses on board who were performing emergency surgery on an injured soldier who was going to die without intervention—all while flying out of a dangerous combat zone. Lt. Col. Hammond had all the crew members certify and sign a document stating the flag was on this mission, and he brought it to North Texas Orthopedics & Spine Center. Dr. Michael Briseño accepted it on behalf of the physicians and staff. It will be framed and will hang proudly in our lobby.

Thank you to Lt. Col. Hammond and all the brave men and women who serve, defend, and protect our country.

GIVING BACK

For over 30 years at North Texas Orthopedics & Spine Center, having a servant’s heart has been a fundamental cornerstone of who we are. Our physicians and staff support and volunteer at many nonprofits throughout the North Texas area.

A few to highlight are:
GRACE (Grapevine Relief And Community Exchange) – Our physicians volunteer in their medical clinic in the evenings each month to help those in need of care for their orthopedic and spine conditions. We also participate in the Feed Our Kids lunch program and help to pass out meals during Thanksgiving.

Christ's Haven For Children – Our staff conducts yearlong collection drives and volunteers at their facilities to help the team and children. The kids there are recovering from trauma and life challenges at home.

Carter BloodCare – We have hosted blood drives at our office to help replenish the community supply. One of our recent drives was in honor of Dr. Christopher Tucker’s son, Zach, who underwent a heart transplant.

Reach out to any of these groups and see how you can get involved and make a difference too!
