Because of my age, I was hesitant to have surgery, but knew my condition was not going to improve without surgical intervention. Unofficially, I believe I may be close to completing that step, as well. Having surgically repaired the damage to my shoulder and built back the strength of the affected shoulder and arm, I am working hard to ensure that I keep this shoulder well and prevent a reoccurrence of the wear and tear. “Dr. Stehly stayed late at Baylor Grapevine in order to complete my surgery. I suffered a horrible fall on some concrete steps late one night and was transported by Grapevine Fire Department to the hospital. I had dislocated my shoulder, broken my left shoulder, two fingers and two ribs. Dr. Stehly and his excellent PA completed my surgery in less than 90 minutes which is great because at 61 years old any surgery can be very risky.
The after surgery treatment was excellent. I preferred to do physical therapy on my own at home, but I was given great instructions and guidance from the day I left the hospital to the present. The entire staff at North Texas Orthopedics are very professional, friendly and caring. My road to recovery is not over, I still need a few more months to regain strength and total use of my left arm.
The surgery went so well I was married 30 days after my accident and still went on a 2-week honeymoon to Europe. I am certain none of this would have happened without the skill and commitment of Dr. Stehly and his PA and entire staff.”
