BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Ivy Nguyen is a fellowship-trained orthopedic hand and upper extremity surgeon dedicated to helping patients restore function, relieve pain, and return to the activities they value most.

Her approach to surgery is shaped by a background in bioengineering and a deep appreciation for the precision and complexity of the human body. She treats a wide range of hand, wrist, and upper extremity conditions, including nerve compression, injuries, and sports-related conditions, with an emphasis on thoughtful, individualized care.

Dr. Nguyen believes exceptional care begins with listening. She takes time to understand each patient’s goals, explain treatment options clearly, and develop a treatment plan she would feel confident recommending to a member of her own family.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in bioengineering from Stanford University, followed by her medical degree and orthopedic surgery residency at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She then completed advanced fellowship training in hand and upper extremity surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Her dedication to compassionate patient care was recognized with the W. Brandon Carrell Distinguished Physician Award from UT Southwestern.

Returning to Dallas-Fort Worth is especially meaningful to Dr. Nguyen, who developed strong ties to the community during her medical training. She is proud to care for patients throughout North Texas as part of North Texas Orthopedics.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Nguyen enjoys traveling, cooking, crafting, and spending time with family and friends.
