BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Steven Niedermeier is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon who specializes in diagnosing and treating injuries and conditions of the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder. He is dedicated to taking a patient-centered approach to care, and he partners with each patient to develop a personalized treatment plan that meets their needs as well as helps them get back to enjoying the activities they love.

After earning his Bachelor of Science degree in biology from The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, Dr. Niedermeier attended medical school at The Ohio State University College of Medicine, where he graduated with his Doctor of Medicine degree. He then went on to complete his residency training in orthopedic surgery at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, also in Columbus. Following his residency, Dr. Niedermeier received additional subspecialty training through a fellowship in hand and upper extremity surgery at the OrthoCarolina Hand Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Dr. Niedermeier is an expert at performing a wide array of advanced orthopedic treatments, procedures, and techniques. His areas of expertise include upper extremity arthroscopic surgery; hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder joint replacement; upper and lower extremity soft-tissue reconstruction; minimally invasive and wide-awake surgery; and endoscopic and open carpal tunnel release. Dr. Niedermeier also offers hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder fracture care as well as various injections, including the XIAFLEX® injection for Dupuytren’s contracture.

Outside of practicing medicine, Dr. Niedermeier enjoys spending time with his family as well as traveling, watching movies, and attending live sporting events. He also likes to keep active by playing golf, running, and cycling.
